Employees/ Meet the Team
GAYLE BRAGG – Office/Marketing Manager. Gayle is Wayne Bragg’s wife, and began working at the shop in August 2014 following retirement from a law firm, where she worked for 5 years as a claims consultant. Prior to working at the law firm, she managed claims at a major insurance company for approximately 27 years. When Gayle is not managing the shop office, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She is involved in many community groups, to include Women United and Business Women’s Round Table. Gayle also enjoys gardening, reading and traveling when she is able to break away from the shop!
GEORGE BRAGG – Shop Manager. George is third-generation (grandson of Cecil and Nancy Bragg and son of Wayne Bragg), and began working half days at the shop in 2001 while participating in an apprenticeship program with CATEC. At that time, he worked in the paint department as a prepper. Upon graduation from high school in 2002, George started working at the shop full time. In 2005, he moved into the office and was responsible for ordering parts. In 2007, George’s duties were expanded; he began working alongside Wayne on the “front lines”, so to speak, which entailed communicating directly with shop customers, writing estimates, working with insurance companies on supplemental claims, etc. George continues with these duties in addition to having assumed the role of shop manager in 2014. When he is not at the shop, George enjoys spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and riding ATVs.
WAYNE BRAGG – Owner. Wayne is second-generation (son of Cecil and Nancy Bragg, the original owners), and began working at the shop in 1975 as an auto body technician. He then worked at a major insurance company as a master adjuster for 11 years, and returned to the shop in 1997 to allow Cecil and Nancy to retire. His combined years in the industry exceed 40. When Wayne is not at the shop, he enjoys gardening, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling.
TRAVIS HARRIS – Painter. Travis has been at Bragg’s for approximately 3 years and has worked as an auto body technician and painter. He has approximately 17 years of shop experience, and has participated in several I-CAR classes for which he has earned certifications, he is SIKKENS certified, and he is an AkzoNobel Lifetime Certified Painter. When Travis is not at the shop painting vehicles, he enjoys spending time with his family.
AUSTIN HENSHAW – Paint Helper/Prepper. Austin has been with Bragg’s for approximately 2 years as a paint helper/prepper, and has approximately 3 years of shop experience. He has taken classes though SEM Products, Inc. When he is not at the shop, he enjoys fishing and attending car shows.
LEWIS MARLOWE – Collision Repair Technician. Lewis came to work at Bragg’s in July 2014 as an auto body technician, of which he has over 35 years’ experience. He is I-CAR trained and holds a welding certification. Lewis has three daughters and enjoys attending SOCA soccer games and tournaments, spending time with his family and friends, and fishing and hunting. He is also a firearms enthusiast.
CHARLES STROPPEL – Collision Repair Technician. Charlie has been an auto body technician at Bragg’s for approximately 7 years, and has over 20 years of experience as an auto body technician. He has participated in several I-CAR classes for which he has earned certifications, and he holds a welding certification, a MACS A/C certification and various ASE certifications. When Charlie is not repairing damaged vehicles, he enjoys boating/fishing and hunting, and he is a firearms enthusiast. He also has 4 dogs who keep him busy; the first rescued from the Fluvanna County SPCA (pictured above), the second rescued from the Rockingham County SPCA, the third rescued from the Triad (Greensboro, NC area) SPCA and the fourth a stray.
Last, but not least, the shop dogs – top picture: Schuyler (left), Yogie (center) and Ginger; bottom picture: Mistie. Their (self-decided) duties are to frequently demand biscuits and bark at passerby when outside “guarding” the lot!
